| PEDRO VAZ "Caminhar"  Sinopse Caminhar é um vídeo de três minutos e dez segundos em loop, e é constituído por sete sequências de séries de fotografias sobrepostas. A peça reporta à experiência de caminhar, e procurou fazer demorar a percepção em algo que na caminhada acontece naturalmente, o avanço do campo de visão. O movimento é contínuo, como um relógio, no entanto, apesar da sequência fotográfica nunca chegar a ser interrompida, a velocidade de sobreposição de cada nova imagem mantém-se lenta. Esta lentidão faz parte da intenção de convidar o espectador a entrar na peça e percorrer a natureza em absoluto, convite para o qual concorre também o recurso a elementos figurativos, articulados com uma reserva de espaço para a sua imaginação, através da abstração. Caminhar foi o primeiro de uma série de trabalhos que, passada mais de uma década, veio a constituir um dos ramos mais significativos da pesquisa artística, e à qual pertencem, p.ex. Fenda (2011), Terras do Risco (2011) e Tour du Mont-Blanc (2013). Trata-se de grandes vídeo-instalações que reconstroem a presença do artista no lugar, recorrendo a apresentações panorâmicas de filmes compostos de sequências de imagens singulares captadas in situ. | SILVIA MARIOTTI "Primeira madrugada"  Sinopse At the beginning of the century the Italian immigration involved several areas of Brazil, one of these was also the Amazonia. The idea of my journey aimed to retrace the experience of a discovery that has still the same feeling of a century ago.The discovery of a world and remote cultures, which bring with themselves roots diversely contaminated but that keep the original enchantment of places without time. The early morning in the Amazon, a time simultaneously real and unknown. A concrete experience that retains the same dimension of centuries ago, when even Gregorio Ronca, frigate captain of the Italian Navy undertook a long journey to the Amazon, on behalf of King Vittorio Emanuele III. The journey involved deep emotions dozed off by the power of that nature: “those natural magnificence always inspired in me a sense of admiration mixed with a feeling of pride for the security that, in a near future, men would have shaped that rebellious nature to its needs…” ............................................................................... ............................................................................... |

| Pedro Vaz Maputo, 1977. Licenciatura em Pintura - Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de Lisboa (2006). Vive e trabalha em Lisboa. O seu trabalho artístico centra-se numa pesquisa em torno da paisagem, maioritariamente em suporte de pintura e instalação vídeo. O contacto pessoal com o lugar é essencial na sua prática e os seus projectos incluem muito frequentemente uma expedição. Exposições individuais recentes a destacar: Terra Firme, Colégio das Artes, Coimbra (2018), Azimute, Galeria 111, Lisboa (2018); Superstition Wilderness, Camões – Centro Cultural Português no Luxemburgo (2018); Peralta to Boulder Canyon, Phoenix Institute of Contemporary Art, Phoenix, EUA (2017); Caminho do Ouro – Trilha do Facão, Kubikgallery, Porto, Portugal (2017). | Silvia Mariotti Was born in 1980, lives and works in Milan. In March 2005 she graduated in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Urbino (IT) and in 2008 in Visual Arts. A constant with her research is the analysis of the environment, both on a sociological and historical point of view. Through photography and its several possible representations, she try to find the existing links in reality, giving back to the image the suggestions and feelings experienced. In 2013, she won the first prize in the X edition of the Celeste Award for photography. In 2016 she was selected for FAAP's artistic residency in São Paulo and was a finalist in the IX edition of the Talent Prize. In 2017 she was selected for another residency program in São Paulo, Uberbau_House. She exhibited in various galleries and public spaces, including the Museum of Contemporary Art in Lissone, the Fabbri Foundation of Pieve di Soligo (IT), Villa Manin in Passariano (IT), the Macro Museum in Rome and Palazzo Ducale of Urbino. She is currently working on a publication about brasilian research. ............................................................................... |
